A Good Advice from a Friend
'Real love isn’t a fairy tale, but it’s so worth it, and possible if we work for it.' -Lori Deschene
Sometimes, I can't avoid to think that having a relationship is a need in my life right now. Last night, I had a talk with a friend who unexpectedly gave me an advice that I think it's worth to consider. He said that being single in our moment is way better than having a relationship by demand. He chose to be single because he wanted that relationship to end up in marriage. There is no use of finding a girlfriend or a boyfriend right now if your only reason is to entertain your empty life.
Anyway, he's right. I can see that he is happy, even though he said that his love life is so plain like vanilla. I am single for 3 years now. In this long time that I have, I had the most rocky road adventure in finding for the right one and I always ended up with sad goodbyes. I'm a hopeless romantic that's why I easily fall in love in the wrong guy. I have to change my views and start a new perspective today.
The article written by Lori Deschene entitled, '5 Ways to Experience the Kind of Love You See in the Movies' taught me to remain my thinking in the real world by not comparing the relationship I am experiencing to the movies.
I should always remember that a real love story is greatly different to the stories we get from romantic comedy movies. Right now, I am focusing on the good things I have in my life like career, graduate school and my family. It is also a way of loving myself first so that if time will come that a relationship will begin, I can easily provide the real love for my partner no matter what will happen.
