OBVIOUS CHILD

In every decision that we will make, there will always be a consequences. However if you put your worries and fears on your shoulders, surely, you will only get a muscle strain and it will be the most painful experience you had. Life’s worries and fears should be kept in a box and thrown to the sea so that our life will be easy and light.
In this movie ‘Obvious Child’, I salute the character of Jenny Slate as Donna Stern whom a courageous woman who decided to get an abortion. Well, the decision about abortion depends on person’s beliefs. It can be mainly influenced by our religious affiliation. I am not condemning a woman who decided to have an abortion because it’s her body and she discern it so well and we should respect her. In this modern era, sex can be a common thing we did with the opposite sex. It may be on a stranger, acquaintance or to our boyfriend. However safe sex should be practiced as well so that there’s no harm after. I’m 22 years old but still, I’m not yet been to a real sex. Maybe I will do it if I’m capable already especially with my finances. I think I have to share this but recently, there’s a friend of mine whom I made plans that we’re going to label our relationship as friends with benefit. I think it’s weird but we did not do it yet because he’s out of the country and through this movie, it made me realize something. I’m not yet ready for anything. I’m excited to do it but there’s a feeling in me that says “No!”. I’m avoiding him recently. To be honest, I’m afraid and scared. I’m a nurse and I know how to practice safe sex but there’s really something that pushes me of not to do it. I don’t know.

By the way, I’m so thankful because I find time to watch this movie. It’s really great and inspiring especially to my generation as young adults who are not yet stable and capable of building a family. Being a parent means responsibilities and I’m sure of myself that I’m not yet ready for it. My mother would always advised me to enjoy being single and I think I am enjoying it. I’m not into a relationship for almost three years now and all I can say is that I’m enjoying.
Two thumbs up for this movie! It is not another simple rom-com movie but it says something of what’s happening in our society. The love story of Donna and Max is one of a kind and I’m happy with the ending. Watch it dear reader and you’ll never regret it! :)
