GERD, why do you have to keep on coming back?

'Sometimes we tend to overindulged ourselves with earthly things. Then, frustration comes in when the feeling of inadequacy overshadowed us.'

Last June 23, 2013, I ate a lot that I couldn't manage my stomach anymore. It started with a cup of milo at 4am. I was in the graveyard shift that time. I didn't have enough sleep and I don't have any choice, but to drink cup of coffee after I ate my breakfast. Well, I'm living with my family and I didn't have the hard time in preparing my meals. That morning we enjoyed our merienda because shared a serve of mango float. I'm glad staying in the house every weekend because my siblings were there and together we're complete as a family. I ate four slices of pizza the afternoon of that day and then, it started my hyperacidity.

I was diagnosed with GERD last year. GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) is a back-flow of gastric or duodenal contents into the esophagus. It started with too much burping every morning and it ended up in one morning that I suffered with severe epigastric pain after eating my breakfast. Well, after two weeks of Omperazole, I recovered from GERD and I started observing a healthy meal. However that day I forgot about my GERD, I eat too much and it strikes again.

I was in the back seat of our car when I suffered form hyperacidity and realized this reflection. Overindulging ourselves from anything can be wrong sometimes and it may lead us to some consequences. Being sufficient in our lives can take us a lot of effort because we, humans, are predisposed to overfeed ourselves with earthly things especially with money. Some may enter gambling, corruption and other evil things just to satisfy themselves. Then again, we should found our deepest satisfaction in our hearts. We must have a daily reflection of about ourselves for us to avoid overindulgence. Let us observe our self-control at everything. Be in moderate mode.

This day I found it as a great lesson and I will try to keep this to myself as part of growing up to become a matured one.
